Who is birrugan Dunn-Velasco?

Birrugan is our CEO and Founder. He is a Gumbaynggirr Dhunghutti man who is a multi-disciplinary language operative, filmmaker, artist, musician, historian and seeker of knowledge. Birrugan is passionate about the liberation of all Indigenous peoples and is determined to see a Goori Renaissance. He wants equip his people with the tools of language to ensure they can lead self-determined and empowered lives.
Birrugan has worked across government, and non-government language institutions, is a researcher at Western Sydney University and a consultant for local Aboriginal community organisations. He has previously held board positions before starting up Bulagan Ltd.
He now works with his partner Mililma and their dog, Juum, disseminating language in the Nambucca Valley.
when are community Language classes on?

Community classes are for Gooris only and run as follows:
Beginner / Mums & Bubs: Mondays from 2PM - 5PM
Advanced: Wednesday (by invitation only)
Beginner / Open to all: Fridays from 2PM - 5PM
how can i learn my language off country?

We are in the process of planning how we support Gooris off country to learn their language. Please stay tuned.
